About This Overlook
Mather Point is one of the most visited overlooks on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. Named after Stephen Mather, the first director of the National Park Service, this viewpoint offers an unobstructed 180-degree panorama of the Grand Canyon. It serves as many visitors' first glimpse of the canyon, located just a short walk from the Canyon View Information Plaza.
