About This Overlook
Glacier Point offers one of the most spectacular panoramas in Yosemite National Park, providing breathtaking views of Half Dome, Yosemite Valley, and the High Sierra. Located 3,214 feet above the valley floor, this iconic overlook has been a destination for visitors since the late 1800s. The point was named for the glacial polish visible on its granite surface, evidence of the ancient glaciers that shaped Yosemite Valley.
