About This Overlook
Cadillac Mountain is the highest point on the North Atlantic seaboard and one of the first places in the United States to see the sunrise from October through early March. The summit offers 360-degree panoramic views of Acadia National Park, including Frenchman Bay dotted with wooded islands and the town of Bar Harbor below. The mountain was named after French explorer Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac.
