Mesa Arch

About This Overlook

Mesa Arch is a natural sandstone arch perched on the edge of a cliff in the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park. The arch is famous for its spectacular sunrise views, when the rising sun illuminates the underside of the arch in brilliant shades of orange and red, creating a glowing effect that has made it one of the most photographed natural arches in the world. The short 0.5-mile trail makes this iconic view accessible to most visitors.
