About This Overlook
Hurricane Ridge is the premier viewpoint in Olympic National Park, offering sweeping views of the Olympic Mountains, including the 7,980-foot Mount Olympus. The ridge earned its name from the fierce winds that often blow through the area, sometimes exceeding 75 mph. On clear days, visitors can see across the Strait of Juan de Fuca to Vancouver Island, Canada. The area is popular for wildflower viewing in summer and skiing in winter.
